PMA Australia
PMA's Australian Division was founded in 1978 as the Australian Photographic Dealers Association which was incorporated as a Division of the Photo Marketing Association International in 1978.
Since that time its membership has grown from around 50 specialty photo retailers, digital imaging retailers and minilabs to over 1000 members. These include associated fields including Professional Photo Labs, Professional School Photographers, Camera Technicians, Photo Imaging Educators, Professional Picture Framers, Professional Scrapbook Retailers, Professional Wedding & Event Videographers, Professional Sports Photographers as well as wholesalers and distributors.

PMA through its range of Newsletters and publications has information which includes marketing information, statistics and advice for members.
The Australian Division holds meetings in all States every three months - all members are welcome to attend these meetings.
Divisional officers are elected in all states with the chairpersons forming the PMA Australian Executive committee which acts as the country's controlling body working closely with the International head office.
The PMA Australian office can supply legal advice through respected and qualified practitioners as well as information on industrial relations through industrial advocates.
PMA holds an annual Australian Convention in which it combines with wholesalers and Distributors to produce an extensive range of topics for attendees and the largest Trade Exhibition in the Southern Hemisphere.
The Young Achiever's Programme is unique to Australia and is now in its 9th year. The programme has produced many outstanding young industry leaders, many of whom remain active by serving on state committees.
Publications: There is an extensive book shop with titles selected for members and available through the PMA on-line bookstore at extremely competitive prices.
The division is in constant contact with government agencies on behalf of members including the ATO (Australian Taxation Office), where it seeks to support member's concerns with items such as the GST (Goods and Services Tax).
The Australian office is happy to investigate and support members' queries and to source information for them wherever possible.
